Class notes

Busy weekend...thank goodness for all those classes I have kept notes of over the years. Why did Housework jump out at me when I flicked through? Perhaps because I feel guilty about doing so little recently. So we will dust, polish and wash. As for the older classes we will explore our personal space and then change its shape, extend it, compress it, attach ourselves to a partner and generally dance up a storm.

This was our set up for the younger classes this week. They love these dragon flies and balancing them on fingers, toes, head etc. Great for inspiring swooping, soaring and resting too. Thank you Delwyn for the great photos.

I have been thinking about how hard it must be for new dancers to start classes where the students have a long standing relationship with each other. I am impressed both with the confidence of the new dancers and the welcoming atmosphere the old students create. Fantastic!

Have just finished working out this week's classes.
Dragon flies, water lilies and lily pads with a few frogs for the younger dancers. Then I thought we haven't danced with the chairs for ages.....so an old fav for the older dancers! Let's see what they can do.

What a great start to the year it has been! From the shining faces of the 2 1/2 year olds to the fabulous energy and commitment of the teenagers it seems as if Bendigo is coming to life with dance. There is even a chance of an adults class next term for 6 weeks. I am so looking forward to this year unfolding.
